Often times, when people think of advertising copy, they think of writing with poetic sounding language, or writing clever phrases, and they forget to add the basic elements of advertising copy.

Poetic sounding language:

  • Our warmest welcome!
  • Come experience the incredible joy of {activity}, and discover the nascent talent within you!
  • We think of ourselves as a place where our students deepest inner wishes for joy come alive in our classes!

"Clever" phrases:

  • Where attitude meets gratitude!
  • Where students become family!
  • Where inspiration meets reality!

Although, there's nothing wrong with adding poetic sounding language or clever phrases in your ad copy, those are not the essence of good advertising copy.

When it comes to writing ad copy, people need to understand:

  • Who is your ad for? (a call out)
  • what you're promoting? (your offer)
  • And they need to understand what you want them to do (the call to action).

*Examples of all 3 elements*

Those are 3 important elements that should not be missing from your ad copy.

So, check your ad copy and see if your ad copy includes these 3 elements. If they don't make sure that when it is time to update your ads, you add these elements into your ad copy.
