One of the most frequently asked questions when it comes to advertising is: "How long do I leave my ads running for?"
Other frequently asked questions include:
- "Should I change my ads?"
- "Should I stop my ads?"
- "Should I keep my ads running?"
- "When is it time to stop or change my ads?"
To help you answer all those questions, we've created a tool here that will help you diagnose your ad performance, and let you know when it's time to change your campaigns, or leave your campaigns running.
Let's dive in.
I'm going to open up the flow chart in another tab.
REAL AD ACCOUNT EXAMPLE
Go into the ads manager
Set the date picker to "Maximum"
Set the columns to performance and clicks
Follow the flowchart.
Grab the "Bench mark"
Set the date picker to last 7 days.
Compare the last 7 days to the benchmark. This will tell you whether you should leave your ads running, or change them.

Now that you've seen how to use the flowchart with all these different accounts, pause the video and check how your ad campaigns are doing.
If your campaigns are doing great, then leave them running!
If your campaigns are not performing well, and need to be refreshed, in the next section of this training, I'll show you how to identify why your ads might be performing poorly, and how to trouble shoot them.
Before we get there though, I have to warn you that this flow chart is not perfect, and there are times when you should ignore this flowchart.
That's the topic for the next video. I'll see you there!
