Welcome back! In this video, we are going to talk about downloading your list of contacts so that you can import them into StudioHub. We recommend having all your contacts in StudioHub because it allows you to streamline your communications and centralize all your conversations in one place.

Please take a moment to go into your class management software, or any other software where you keep all your contacts, like Excel, Google Sheets, or email software, and download your list. The information you're looking to download is names, phone numbers, and emails.

Ideally, you want to separate your contacts into three lists. Think of them as three separate buckets:
  • Currently enrolled students.
  • Past students: So, anyone who used to take classes at your studio who has stopped attending.
  • Leads: Anyone who has inquired about your classes in the past.

There are a few reasons why we want to separate your contacts into these lists. The obvious one is to differentiate your currently enrolled students from everyone else. Another important reason is to improve your marketing efforts. When you send promotions to past students who already trust you, you can speak to them differently than you would speak to leads who haven't built that trust with your business yet. Separating your list will make it easier to have success with your promotions.

A couple of important notes:
  • Some software might make it hard to download your contacts in these three specific buckets. Just try your best. Even if you end up with one list, it's better than nothing. Don't get stuck because you can't figure out how to run the right report.
  • For businesses that teach kids' classes, if your software doesn't easily let you download the parent's first name, that's okay. Just download whatever information you can get. Moving forward, StudioHub will make it easier to capture that information, so don't worry about it.

With that said, pause this video, go to your class management software or any other software where you keep track of your contact information, and download your list of contacts. Try your best to separate them into three different lists, but if you can't, just download whatever information is available. Don't get stuck in this step!

See you in the next video.
